Educational structure of the population

In the educational structure of the population, there are clear trends toward an increase in the number of university graduates and people with secondary education, and a decrease in the number of those with primary, primary, and no education. Regionally, the highest relative share of graduates is in Pazardzhik municipality (21.0%), followed by Peshtera (17.5%) and Panagyurishte (17.0%), and the lowest in Lesichovo (7.9%), Rakitovo (8.6%) and Sarnitsa (10.8%).

Employed people are between 15 and 64 years old. Employment rate in Pazardzhik Municipality according to the National Statistical Institute is 61.2%.

The working-age population (15-64 years old) is 67 548, representing 64.3% of the total population. Numerical indicators for the working-age population at the end of 2020 are as follows:

• The leading age group is 40-44 years - 7 970 citizens, representing 7.6% of the total population of the municipality and 11.8% of the working-age population.

• Similar is the position of the 45-49 age group - 7,924 citizens, representing 7.5% of the total population of the municipality and 11.79% of the working-age population;

• Next is the 50-54 age group - 7,897 citizens, representing 7.51% of the total population and 11.7% of the working-age population at that time;

• Followed by the 60-64 age group - 7,710 citizens representing 7.33% of the total population and 11.41% of the working-age population.

The above statistics show that in the medium and relatively long term - 15-20 years, Pazardzhik Municipality will have a sufficient population of working age.
