Foreign direct investment

Another factor for the development of the business is the foreign direct investment (FDI) for the whole period (2014-2019). Pazardzhik Region starts from a level of 472 034.6 thousand EUR in 2014 and reaches 476 318.1 thousand EUR in 2019, with peculiar peaks in 2017 - 505 855.8 thousand EUR and 2018 - 516 146.3 thousand EUR. The total FDI attracted from 2014 to 2019 was EUR 2,937,133 thousand, against EUR 1,656,161 thousand for 2007-2012 /part of the previous programming period/. The increase is 56.4% compared to the period described above. The Municipality of Pazardzhik began at 113,996 thousand euros in 2014 and reached 150,141.9 thousand euros in 2019. After fluctuating values for the years mentioned, the peak is in the last year 2019. The total FDI attracted for the municipality from 2014 to 2019 is EUR 743,504 thousand against EUR 450,568 thousand for the years 2007-2014. The increase is 60.6% compared to the period preceding the mentioned one. Both territorial levels show an increase in FDI in numerical and percentage terms for the period 2014-2019 compared to the previous programming period.

From 2014 to 2019, Pazardzhik District attracted a total of EUR 2 937 133 thousand and Pazardzhik Municipality - EUR 743 504 thousand, representing 25.31% of the funds of a similar nature in the district.
